The context
After the 2024–2025 years of downy mildew and oidium problems, Carlo’s main need was to have a tool to help him decide the right time to intervene.
Why advance payment is useful
Safe vineyard provides alerts and 3-day forecasts that allow you to reason about when to treat. This advance allows for more robust assessments than the ‘feeling’ intervention.
Advantage for companies with more vineyards
A strong point is that alerts can be triggered differently for different vineyards. This allows interventions to be concentrated only on vineyards at risk diseases, optimising resources and time.
Impact on management
According to Carlo, this ability to intervene specifically significantly improves company management, reducing unnecessary treatments and increasing the effectiveness of interventions where they are really needed.
Full Testimony
The end of 2024 came from two difficult years, 2024 and 2025, so there were downy mildew and oidium problems. I can say that I am satisfied: The main purpose of the tool is to know when to intervene.
When an alert arrives or there is a forecast of the time at 2–3–5 days, more reasoned assessments can be made of when to intervene in the vineyard. As one holding has several vineyards, I noticed that the alert is triggered for different vineyards, not for all at the same time. Knowing that one vineyard is at risk while another does not allows you to intervene on the right vineyard instead of the other. I think it improves management a lot.
